Emerging Technology Strategy and Implementation at NITI Aayog, Government of India
Arnab Kumar is Program Director, Frontier Technologies for NITI Aayog, Government of India’s premier strategy and policy institution. Arnab leads Government of India’s strategy, policy and implementation initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, FinTech and Blockchain. Arnab has co-authored India’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (released in June 2018) and is developing India’s national action and implementation plan for Blockchain. His key initiatives are focused on Healthcare and Supply Chain solutions and include: a) BlockChain and IoT based solutions for fertiliser subsidy supply chain and pharmaceuticals supply chain and b) Imaging BioBank for Cancer – India focused annotated database of cancer-related radiology and pathology images along with clinical data, aimed at advancing technology-based research for cancers prevalent in India and building predictive and prognostic tools. Arnab has contributed to the drafting of National Policy on e-Commerce and has developed draft guidelines on Crowdfunding and Alternate Capital Raising Platforms.
An ex-investment banker, Arnab has worked for Deutsche Bank’s New York, Hong Kong and Singapore offices and has raised more than USD30bn in M&A, equity and debt transactions, primarily in FinTech, Financial Institutions and Technology deals. Arnab has also previously led product teams across 3 global locations for Oracle. Arnab is an alumnus of Indian School of Business, Columbia Business School, and Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chevening CRISP Fellow (2019).
